11-year-old fighter Elsa crossed the finish line with her dad

As 11-year-old Elsa Andersson cycled in together with the other participants in Team Rynkeby, she became the youngest participant ever to cross the yellow finish line in Paris. Technically, she is underage to participate, but as she had been given leave from her cancer ward in Sweden to join her dad as he crossed the finish line, an exception was made.

Eight days in the saddle are over – Team Rynkeby gets poignant welcoming in Paris

Efter åtta dagar i sadeln avslutade Team Rynkeby idag sin årliga cykeltur till Paris till förmån för kritiskt sjuka barn. Och välgörenhetscykellaget fick en rörande mottagning i den franska huvudstaden.

Cycling became Caroline’s therapy after Lucas' battle with cancer

At the end of April 2014, Caroline Magnusson's world turned upside down. Doctors confirmed that the lump in her 3-year-old son Lucas' stomach was a malignant tumour of an unusual type of cancer. Thanks to successful research, Lucas is now in recovery and spends his time just like any other 8-year-old. But his illness has left its mark on Caroline. “Cycling has become my therapy, my way of healing from Lucas' illness,” she says.

Magnus was diagnosed with cancer when he was 9 years old – Team Rynkeby is the best

Magnus Magnusson var ni år, da han fik kræft. Han ved derfor bedre end de fleste, hvad færøske børn går igennem, når de bliver alvorligt syge og må flyttes til Danmark i behandling – langt væk fra familie og venner.
