What it costs to participate on Team Rynkeby in 2020

After completing a successful Tour de Paris less than a month ago, the Team Rynkeby Foundation is well underway in planning next year’s journey to the French capital.

25 August 2019 is the deadline for applications to be part of the upcoming season’s team, and the Team Rynkeby Foundation is also announcing the cost of participation for both cyclists and service volunteers.

And prices will be more or less the same as last year, explains Carl Erik Dalbøge, Director of the Team Rynkeby Foundation.

“We’ve succeeded in keeping costs at around the same level. The Team Rynkeby Foundation doesn’t earn anything on participant fees, so the prices we offer the participants are the true net prices that we get from our suppliers,” says Carl Erik Dalbøge.

Participation costs
In 2020, it will cost EUR 2,525 (EUR 2,454 in Germany) for cyclists who do not already own a Team Rynkeby bicycle from a previous year. The cost includes a Team Rynkeby racer, which cyclists can of course keep after the journey, a clothing package consisting of a bicycle helmet, two short-sleeved bike jerseys, two pairs of bike shorts, a wind vest, a set of loose sleeves, cycling gloves and seven nights in a shared double room.

If you have a Team Rynkeby racer from earlier, you can deduct the price of the bike and the participant cost will then be EUR 1,099 (EUR 1,085 in Germany).

Service volunteers pay EUR 517 for the upcoming season, which is EUR 226 less than the actual cost. This low price is possible because each cyclist will pay a little more so that the food volunteers can pay a little less.

“In addition to the participant fee, team members can expect to spend a few thousand Danish kroner on extra equipment, additional nights, training trips, catering, etc.,” says Carl Erik Dalbøge.

Paid over three instalments
The participant fee is paid over three instalments. The first instalment of EUR 1,426 (EUR 1,369 in Germany) must be paid no later than 1 October 2019 and covers the cost of the racer.

The second instalment of EUR 356 (EUR 342 in Germany) must be paid no later than 1 December 2019 and covers the cost of the clothing and the subsidy for the service volunteers.

The third instalment of EUR 743 must be paid no later than 15 May 2020 and covers the seven nights of hotel accommodation. 15 May 2020 is also the deadline for the service volunteers to pay their participation fee of EUR 517.

If you would like to be part of Team Rynkeby in 2020, submit your application on the Team Rynkeby website no later than 25 August 2019.
